Act with Us
If you are interested in acting with us, please send your headshot and résumé, age range, and contact information to playzoomers@gmail.com. You’ll need a current laptop computer (no phones or iPads), a taut green screen, ring light, external webcam, strong WIFI, a totally quiet rehearsal/performance space, and proficiency with Zoom controls. If we’d like you to audition for a part, we will contact you.

Submit Scripts
We are always seeking short, medium, and full-length scripts that lend themselves to live, online (Zoom) production, with a maximum of 5 or 6 actors/characters. We are interested in straight plays, not musicals.
If you are interested in submitting scripts for PlayZoomers production consideration, please format your script according to these guidelines: https://www.dramatistsguild.com/script-formats
On the first page, please include the title, author, estimated run time, and contact info. On the next page, please include a logline/brief plot summary, a detailed character breakdown, and a brief author bio.
At the end of the script, please describe production details, such as visuals, costumes, props, music, and sound effects.
Send your script to playzoomers@gmail.com. There is a $10 script submission fee for plays with an estimated runtime of less than 15 minutes and a $15 script submission fee for plays with an estimated runtime of 15 minutes or longer. If the submission fee is unaffordable you may submit without it.
We will acknowledge your submission but regret that we cannot respond “yea” or “nay” to every script. If we are interested in producing it, we will let you know!
PlayZoomers Seeks Short, Online, Holiday Scripts
We are looking for short (10-15 min.) holiday scripts for our December 2024 production: light, humorous, clever plays with themes related to Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Eve, or other December holidays. Scripts should be suitable for online production. There will be no script submission fees required. If we produce your play, you will receive a small stipend.
The deadline for this round of submissions is July 31, 2024. Please email scripts to playzoomers@gmail.com In the email’s subject line, put “Holiday script submission: [title of play] by [playwright]”. If you are submitting multiple scripts, send each one in a separate email. Please do not re-submit scripts you have previously sent us.

As we read through scripts, we will acknowledge your submission and reach out to you only if your script is selected for production.
UNDERWRITING AN ONLINE TABLE READ OF YOUR PLAY
PlayZoomers offers playwrights an opportunity to underwrite a Table Read so they can see their play “on its feet” on Zoom. These underwritten Table Reads include a post-show Talkback, a link to the resulting (unedited) recording, and the opportunity for the playwright to invite any number of audience members.
Pricing will depend on the details:
Script length / estimated runtime
Number and description of roles
Casting – will PZ do the casting?
Director – will PZ assign a director?
Tech requirements (lighting, sound effects, royalty-free music, visuals)
Creation of a video “intro” and “outro”
Creation of virtual backgrounds
Editing the resulting recording (if desired)
PlayZoomers typically schedules Table Reads in January and July, but other months may be possible.
